I was offered a job with Hormel – I can pack a can of SPAM in 17 seconds!
Visited the 55 foot tall Jolly Green Giant next, which may be most most notable because it’s the first time Green Giant artists had to figure out his … backside. Before this statue, he’d always been drawn from the front only & never in 3D form.
Hit bad weather in South Dakota: tried but couldn’t outrun a tornado & hail storm. OB-1 has battle scars now.

Made it to Badlands, met a mule deer with a tracking collar, took advantage of the setting sun to take a self-portrait of OB-1’s shadow as I drove through the valley.
Dinner at 9pm after setting up camp – steak and asparagus. In the tent now, a million stars overhead. Time to sleep before exploring the park tomorrow.
